Helpful Hints as You Prepare for Mindful Stretching

While many of the mindful movements we will be practicing are of the gentle variety, it is important that you look after yourself throughout these postures. It is especially important if you know that you have an injury or vulnerable spot in your body to protect and to not push yourself into an area that could cause damage.

What this means is that you need to be gentle, listen to your body, and give yourself permission to respect its limits, rather than following the instructor’s guidance.

If you have any concerns about the postures, it would be important to consult with your physician before starting the practice itself.

Mindful Stretching Exercise

Before You Begin

Make some room for yourself that will allow you to stretch out.

Get a mat that you can stand on.

You might also want to take your socks off so that you can feel the floor through your feet.

This exercise will take about 15 minutes.
